The MME board recently requested members to vote on a constitutional amendment that would expand the ethics committee to better ensure that quorums are reached for meetings and that more opinions of colleagues can be considered for important ethics decisions involving our peers. Here is the language that went to a vote among MME members:
Language that is stricken has been removed, and language that is BOLD and ALL CAPITAL LETTERS has been added:
The Ethics Committee shall consist of five (5) members of the Corporation in good standing, TOTALING NO LESS THAN NINE (9) appointed by the President and confirmed by the Board. Ethics Committee members may not be Directors or hold any other office in the Corporation.
As you can see in the adjacent graphic, the amendment has passed. The Constitution on the MME website has been updated accordingly.
